The Simple Press Forum plugin for Wordpress is one of the most popular and comprehensive solution to his Wordpress blog to add a forum. I also use it in my Mark Knopfler guitar style blog . This gives the option of a blog article automatically link to a forum discussion. However the Simple Press forum only possible in the preparation of an article (or vice versa to create when creating a forum thread) is automatically an associated, linked forum thread (or blog post), which will then take place in the future discussion.
Has - as has happened with me - is already a debate in the Forum is developing, which refers to an article, it is not readily possible to combine items and forum topic later. In this article I want to describe how to do this yet. Requirement is only that you have access to the database of the blog, because you need to edit this manually.
Method
1st Change in the Wordpress backend in the edit mode (Articles -> Edit) and edit the article, which should be linked to a forum thread. Bottom of the page you can link the item with a new forum thread. Tick and update article. You should now see in the article, a link to a blank, and in the same Forum Topic Forum Topic again appear as a link back to the article.
2nd Now you need to edit your database. Most providers offer the opportunity to realize this through phpmyadmin. Otherwise, should a Google search using the keywords such as "edit mysql database to help you. In the database you are looking for the key wp_sftopics (the prefix wp_ you have created your blog may vary designated administrator). Let us now display all the entries of this key, you see a table in which the rows correspond to their forum topics. 3rd Delete the entire last line (that is the new blank forum topic). Delete this not in the Simple Press forum itself, otherwise the link will be deleted as of the article to the forum topic.
4th It must be added the link of the article are adapted to the forum topic (which has yet to empty, previously deleted topic). You open the key wp_postmeta and display them. There are probably quite a long list, look for the latest of them, who stood with me on the last page of the list, so the bottom. They see the values meta_id, post_id (the number of the item you want to link), metakey (here should already "forum link") and are meta_value. In meta_value appeared in my "2 @ 30", with 30 of the ID is linked Forum Topics. In my case I wanted to Topic link 25 instead of 30, so I had to change this value to "2 @ 25" (I do not know what the 2 stands). 5th In the new investors of the Forum Topics link in step 1 was produced on the topic already, a new, blank forum post. As so often with new equipment appeared well with my new video camera Sony CX 106 days after the first few little problems to existing. Here also the right solution.

It would be nice here, a remote control that is lacking in most low-priced cameras. So you have to remove the first and last seconds of a video then.
In the first experiment, I tried this, the cutting function of the camera itself. You can share that is on the camera shots. This, choose from the recording, controlling to the desired location and then cuts. The cut parts can then delete the camera. When I tried to copy then the so-trimmed video to the hard disk of my notebook, I noted that the associated video file itself (ie the *. mts file has been cut), but apparently only one playlist for this video was altered. With the supplied software from Sony could be cut but then this copy to disk (as a new, slightly shorter *. m2ts file). Strangely this file from the Media Player from Windows 7 was playing perfectly, but with the VLC player was not exactly in sync sound and image (the sound was about 0.5 seconds too late). So I tried it with other methods to cut the file. After my videos on YouTube and long with a Sony DV camcorder and modified with the Digital Camera Lumix FX-37 was filmed, but was now more and more the desire for a "modern image", ie 16:9 widescreen format in high resolution Full-HD. It's now easy to collect before you buy a lot of information about each model of all manufacturers. But the amount of information just makes it often hard to keep it the insight. So I quickly realized that each camera its own strengths and weaknesses in most other areas had. Also found in the network to almost every opinion, the opposing. Anyway, I decided to first for the Panasonic SD 10th This was to have several online vendors for about 350, - €, while for Saturn at least 448, - € cost. Thus, it is clearly one of the most affordable full-HD camcorder.
Panasonic SD 10
The SD 10 is extremely small and light. Her smooth plastic housing, they can tend to seem cheap. She takes in the AVCHD format (. Mts) with a maximum of 17 Mbps on SD card not (included!), And fit on a 4GB card about 25 minutes of video. Like all cameras without tape, disk or DVD drive is completely silent. Its plus points include a very good optical image stabilization, a very thorough, intuitive menu navigation with touch screen and a very good audio quality (even manually SPL). The optical zoom is 16x and thus sufficient.
Even in the first test images fall on the same, that the camera barely allows wide-angle shots (42 mm in relation to camera). The image appears on the small screen as sharp, but already this fall on the relatively weak colors. Now you put the SD card into the notebook and looks at the pictures in full resolution, confirmed this impression. The image looks pale and slightly overcast with a pink-gray veil. Manually change some settings - such as white balance or color scheme - the image is yellowish or bluish, yet remain murky anyway. In low light the camera will then completely limp and always delivers grayer images.
This impression is confirmed when the picture quality of SD 10 on the very good side of Videoaktiv considered. This was also obvious that the Panasonic SD 10 provides less sharp images than most competing models. Debt has 1/6-Zoll to a small image sensor with 1.47 megapixels gross only (a full HD picture with 1920 x 1080 pixels, about 2 megapixels). For me that was the end for this camera, which therefore went back.
Some further details of the SD 10:
- If you fold the display by 180 degrees around, so that you can even see the films, she hides parts of the operating menu, say one does have a monitor, the camera can not operate again.
- The charger is the same power supply, you can not charge the battery while filming with power supply.

In relation to the Sony CX 105 high picture quality (except in extremely dark scenes, test images here ) and only costs about as much as the 10th SD Why I had not originally considered in the shortlist, was the fact that they are not recording to SD card, but in its internal memory (8 GB) or on Memory Stick. But since you can also read the Menory Stick through normal multi-card reader conveniently in the PC, I decided now for this model.
In the search for the best price I noticed that the same apparently still camera is sold under a different name: Sony HDR CX 106 (instead of 105). The only difference between the otherwise identical models, the CX 106 allows a bit more digital zoom, but only in silver instead available in black or red. Supposedly, the CX 106 model for the specialist retail and CX 105 for all other providers. With photo Hamer she was just serving: 359, - € - I got hold of that the last copy in stock.
The Sony CX 106 acts due to the slightly higher weight and more rugged black plastic case (it is silver and black) solid and something nobler. Already on the display the image looks natural yet colorful. Even the sound is excellent. It has only 10-times optical zoom and only an electronic image stabilizer. They also can be operated via touch screen and also plays as AVCHD (. Mts files) to a maximum of 16 Mbps. Unlike the Panasonic can be recorded even with low resolution images as MPEG-2.
Dealing with the camera is easy. Even with automated settings, the picture is good, can be set manually with the parameters sufficient for most applications. Overall, I feel but the menu of the Panasonic sophisticated. I keep the Sony because it provides for very little money excellent picture and sound quality, and for most applications is quite sufficient.
For 66, - € I have yet acquired a wide conversion VLC 0630X from Sony, with the camera to work more flexibly.

I have been a long time looking for a Media Player to allude in our home theater all the multimedia files that are about on various PCs in our household. The thought of this really BluRay Player LG 390 has a total flop in this regard but turned out to be.
The Emtec N200 but I have finally found a solution. For a price of about 99, - € to get a media player, the files from both USB disk, SD card as taking place over the network. He not only supports FAT32-formatted USB media, but also NTFS, which is especially important for high-definition videos, as FAT32 only allows a maximum file size of 4 GB. The N200 is extremely compact and has also elegant. The housing is made of metal, so finally no plastic part. In the picture he has HDMI connection for digital multi-channel optical digital output, but also analog outputs (YUV, RCA video) not be missing if you do not have digital connectivity.
The great benefit of Emtec N200 is the number of supported formats: ZunÃähst was important for me that can be played on HD DVDs copied. Here he not only plays - from how many other devices (such as the WD HD TV) - the VOB files themselves, but supports the IFO files, so that the DVD "normal" look, so with menu, chapters and language can. Super! The number of different video formats speaks for itself: AVI, MKV, TS, MPG, MP4, MOV, VOB, ISO, IFO, DAT, WMV, RM, RMVB, resolution up to 720p/1080i/1080p. Codecs: MPEG- 1, HD MPEG-2, HD MPEG-4 SP / ASP / AVC (H.264), WMV9 (VC-1), Real Networks (RM / RMVB) 8/9/10, up to 720p. So far, everything geklaptt smooth and fluid, except for a MOV file (720p), the jerky over the network. However, I have obviously not even able to test all of the formats.
The audio formats (MP3, OGG, WMA, WAV, AAC, FLAC) are extremely diverse: In addition to the standard MP3 and WMA and WAV fact he plays, and does uncompressed ripped CDs, and even Flac, ie lossless compressed audio.

For several days we have a new digital camera - the Lumix FX37 from Panasonic (The following information concerning the video functions are also valid for the successor FX40). This gave it a price of 198, - € at Saturn (which is the current Amazon price). The camera makes using 10 mega-pixel sensor photographs of outstanding quality. In today's article, however, it should go more to the option of the video filming with this camera.
The Lumix FX 37 is in fact able to record HD video, not full HD, but at least 1280 x 720 pixels (720p). This fact, the price and its compact size, it can appear as an interesting alternative to turn around videos for youtube.
Even when the camera is the excellent quality of the display, which reproduces every detail all the objects in front of the Leica lens. In video mode takes the Lumix movies in Apple Quicktime format (file extension *. MOV), which is quite common and therefore supported by most programs for video editing as well as youtube. However, he refused Quicktime (latest version) to play the videos (it appears only a ghostly image). VLC Media Player vollrichtete this task without problem, so I just avoided on these and have not further explore the causes.
But even on an appropriately large computer screen to see the videos from excellent. Significantly weaker, however, the sound quality: namely, the audio is recorded in mono only kHz with a sampling rate of only 16 (the famous CD-quality stereo at 44.1 kHz means). Here are some competing models significantly better.
On an SD card of 2GB at least match seven minutes of HD video. For longer recordings, you can the resolution but also reduce. I decided, therefore, for a 4 GB card, the cost (15, - € in superior quality) is not all fall into too much weight.
Weaknesses of the video function
While the image quality is very good even, one has to deal essentially with two restrictions: First, it is not possible to zoom while recording. The optical 5x zoom before recording must therefore be adjusted accordingly and will be maintained for the duration of the recording. So it is not possible to show a long shot at first and then gradually zoom in on a detail. On the other regulates the Lumix not by the Focus during video recording. If the image is sharp as a mid-shot and it pivots on such a detail in the foreground, this can be blurred. However, since the depth of field is quite large, that fact is in most situations any further. Example, it is easily a first down on me and then moving to passing skaters always keen to film.
I will certainly use the Lumix for my youtube videos, because I'm using the 4:3 format of my older camcorder no longer really am happy.
Finally, here is one of the first test with the Lumix recorded videos. As the quality has remained even after the upload to youtube very good (full resolution, no further treatment or conversion on my part), one can even give a good impression of the picture and sound quality.
